Letter-Lore Decodable Collection 4: The Star in the Apple Tree. Lively, colourful illustrations supplement the text, but students are able to decode every word in every story on the basis of their letter-sound knowledge alone. The stories in this first collection portray real children, and their pets, in a rich diversity of cultural contexts.  All the selections are fully decodable when students have completed the corresponding lessons in Working with Letters and Sounds.Letter-Lore Decodables are full of mischief and humour; children or animals end up dripping wet, or covered in jam, or splattered in egg, or needing a back-rub after a tumble. They include poems and verses, and soon include a variety of narrative genre and information texts.
