Working with Letters and Sounds 2 (WLS 2): Teacher Edition. Contains lesson plans and teaching tipsto teach the key elements of Science of Reading instruction, including:

- understanding the alphabetic principle, and applying it to reading and spelling - isolating initial, middle and final phonemes,

- forming automatic associations between letters and sounds (GPCs),

- blending phonemes to read single words, phrases and sentences, and stories

- segmenting phonemes in order to spell words, phrases and sentences,

- practicing common sentence patterns and points of syntax, including the use of the definite and indefinite articles, prepositional phrases and sentence patterns with “this” and “that”.

- using picture and context cues to infer the meaning of new words (after they have decoded them.)
